The Five Albums Behind Our Designs

· Our Story

Every design in our shop goes back to the music. Here are the five albums behind Little Brother, in order, so you know where each era fits.

What was our first album?

The Listening (2003). Our debut, made by Phonte, Rapper Big Pooh and 9th Wonder after we met at North Carolina Central University in 1998. It came out two years after "Speed", the first song we recorded as a group, and a year after we signed to ABB Records.

What came next?

The Minstrel Show (2005). Our second album, and the last full album the three of us made together. By then we had signed to Atlantic Records.

When did we become a duo?

Getback (October 23, 2007). 9th Wonder left the group in 2007, and Getback was our first album as a duo: Phonte and Big Pooh.

Leftback (April 10, 2010). Our fourth album. Shortly after it came out, we announced that the group was breaking up.

When did we come back?

May the Lord Watch (2019). Phonte and Big Pooh reunited in 2019. We announced the album on August 19, 2019 and released it the next day.

How do the albums show up in the merch?

  • The script "L": our navy and gold mark, the one design that covers every era.
  • The name, big and bold: LITTLE and BROTHER in pink lettering around a portrait of the two of us.
  • Pick your era: wear the design that goes with the album you still play the most.

Five albums, two decades, one group from Durham. Find the design that matches yours.
